The Unexpected Heir
Chancellor Arion Trest is a close confidant and longtime friend of Lord Cormac Kaspen. He is also good friends with fellow councilors Marshal Denning Brooksworth and Steward Vossel Swain, as well as Lars Dustman and Morris Burke, the heads of Lord Cormac's personal guard. Chancellor Arion has a large family, with five daughters and two sons, as well as several grandchildren.
Chancellor Arion is Kaspen's top diplomat, and very much looks the part. Tall and broad-shouldered, it is clear to any observer that he is a former soldier. Arion wears his wavy black hair at shoulder length, and only looks more distinguished as it goes to gray. He generally prefers to be clean shaven, and dresses in expensive clothing befitting his station.
Arion's late father was a squire in the Lord Admiral's camp with Lord Cormac, and the two were lifelong friends. Arion followed his father into Lord Cormac's service when the latter began his raids on Temgrin. Arion became a confidant of Lord Cormac during this time, and the two have been close since. As the scion of a noble family and a trusted ally, Arion was a natural choice as chancellor of Kaspen, serving since its foundation.
