The Unexpected Heir
Romathia is a continent south of Vaestia, east of Zunstaria, west of Yesham, and far northeast of Fjorfall. Known for its lush jungles and fertile river plains, Romathia is the most naturally blessed continent in the known world. This fact is exploited to the maximum by the rhetoric of the Church of Asthorn, which started in and is still headquartered in the continent.
The Realm of the Pure, including the center of Church governance, The Thorn, is found in Romathia. Many independent nations also exist in Romathia, all of them following the doctrines of the Church. The Yvethi Merchant League has many ports along the Romathian coast, and even a trading city inland at the crossroads of several major trade routes. The Southern League also maintains a small port in the southwest of the continent, although this port is not afforded the same freedoms as those of the Yvethi, being heavily supervised by the Church. The Inquisition even maintains its regional headquarters there, and trade is heavily taxed by the Church on top of what is taken by the League.
Romathia is significantly larger than the other continents, aside from Yesham, and is home to many kingdoms with political, military, and economic significance. Romathians often consider themselves the center of the civilized world, and many Romathian rulers look down on their contemporaries in Vaestia, Zunstaria, Corelmire, and Fjorfall as uncultured provincials. They also, of course, consider themselves above the heathens in Yesham and the lands beyond, although they do respect the Albernecht Empire for its strength, if not the individuals within.
